One of the things I like about
the Eliminator footboard is that
it is smoothed out at the edge,
so you can rest your heal on
the floor, which I do a lot,
playing lower on the footboard.

The new cams are supposed to
be out, this month. I really
am anxious about them.
The Power-Shifter set in and
with the red cams, snaps the
beater back faster, like the
VDL does on the Axis, though
the Axis does it even more.

MC,
I use the Axis-A Longboard. You should
type that into the Search, btw. I talked
a lot about it at Virgil's too.
I think it is a marvelous pedal, with
superior and more versatile action than
the Flying Dragon and because of the VDL
(Variable Drive Lever), which is like
having multiple cams.
I like the longer board to trigger and
its use is effortless. Some people say
that it is 'too easy' but I disagree.
You can use other spings with it too.
It is very easy to change.
It has to be the Axis-A Longboard. Do
not get the X-series.

That was the Yamaha DTX2, with
DS-10 (13) pads. I will replace
them with other pads, someday.
The pedals I used for this were
two Eliminators, with blue cams,
the Shifter all the way in, to-
wards the kick.
I was using a rudimentary ap-
proach but for the kicks.
Speed isn't anything, if it can't
contribute somehow to the music
being played. Make no mistake.
This exercise is about control,
NOT music.
What it does, though, is make me
more able to employ the different
parts of what make it up, so that
I can POTENTIALLY use them music-
ally. I hope you understand what
I'm saying.
Anyway, fine pedals allow the
player options in beater re-
sponse. That's why I want you
to check these pedals out.
For the money, the Eliminator
is the most versatile pedal on
the market but when you try
the Axis, you might get spoil-
ed in feel and pocket.

Good luck and let me know what
you do. Please try all the ped-
als out there, like the DW's, up
to the 9K etc.
